Budapest is at the center of our tale as it is the birthplace of Elmyr de Hory. As such we did much of our research there and had the chance to interview several experts to include: Dr. Katalin Gereben and Dr. Gabor Bellak, both of whom will join Producer/Director Jeff Oppenheim in a panel discussion on fakes and forgeries at this year's Art Market of Budapest October 14th.
Documentary film director Jeff Oppenheim moderates a panel discussion between, Senior VP of Pall Mall Art Advisors, Colleen Boyle, Director of the Thaw Conservation Center, Margaret Holben Ellis, and Art Litigator and Partner at Pryor Cashman LLP, William Charron. Featured in the film, they explain how they applied provenance, connoisseurship and forensics to ferret out works by the most prolific forger of the last century as chronicled in the new documentary.
The historic National Arts Club of New York City, located 15 Gramercy Park, will host a Real Fake symposium featuring filmmaker Jeff Oppenheim, Colleen Boyle, William Charron, and others. The event will be held on Monday, November 13th from 6PM to 7PM. The presentation will include clips from the film and a few of Elmyr's fakes will also be on view.
